A ship carrying 1,200 tons of food for Gaza departed from Limassol, Cyprus, on Monday, August 18, 2025, and has successfully reached the Israeli port of Ashdod. The Panamanian-flagged vessel transported 52 containers filled with essential items including pasta, rice, baby food, and canned goods, which were pre-inspected by Israeli customs at the Cypriot port to ensure faster unloading upon arrival. Approximately 700 tons of the aid were provided by Cyprus through funding from the United Arab Emirates’ Amalthea Fund, while additional contributions came from Italy, Malta, a Maltese Catholic organization, and Kuwait’s Al Salam Association.
